Board Games
My family loves to play games together but it is a little tricky. My son is 8 and my daughter is 5 and sometimes it is hard to find a game that we can all play together. Any suggestions?

we love our card games.
Uno Attack is popular b/c of the machine that spits cards out at you. when i was a child we liked coup ferre aka mille bourne.
a simple deck of playing cards is the best thing to have.
War is great b/c it only requires that the players be able to tell what card is higher. my kids like solitaire. we play together which cracks my husband up. Gin Rummy is actually way simpler than it sounds once you get playing as are Smut and Spades. being a team game Spades is good to play w/ kids a varying age groups b/c you can always team the younger ones with an adult that can help.
Thanks....we love card games as well and uno attack is def one of our favorites....I will have to try and teach them rummy.

If you guys watch disney movies I'd get SceneIt Disney's and do teams one parent and one child.
Depending on how patient your 5 year old is Sequence and possibly Rummy. Uno is always fun IMO.
All the other games I can think of Magster already mentioned. Memory if you all can have fun with it.
Thanks so much for more ideas....memoryis one of our favorites for sure...my daughter has been beating everyone in the house since she was 3....she is freakish at remembering those cards :) We started out using 10 cards from the box and we were using them all by the end of the week we had played so many times...lol

Sorry! is always a popular game here when I have a range of children over. And Trouble. So is Operation. Um, and we got our daughter playing regular Yahtzee last year when she was 5-6. We may have to help guide her a little still, but she enjoys it a lot more than the Jr. version. She also LOVES Guess Who, and her older cousins seem to enjoy it as well.
Skip-Bo Jr. is a really fun card game. It's very similar to the adult version, and my husband and I enjoy it a lot, so your 8 year-old should be good. Dominoes are fun, and she's at a good age to start playing Scrabble (we don't keep score when we play with Morgan) for practice, again with some adult help.
thanks for all of the great ideas...we have a few of those but a few don't have....I have never heard of Skip-bo Jr. so I will definately have to look for that...thanks again
