Laundry
Ugh....my least favorite job in the house. So I am curious....do you have a "laundry day" or do you tend to do it a little at a time during the week? I have done it both ways and I really thing that it is a stage of life thing. Now that my kids are both in school I think that it is easier to do a load or 2 a day but when they were smaller I found it easier to have a day that I devoted to it.

It's just DD and I at home lately, and we both have a LOT of clothes. We could go 2 weeks or more and not re-wear a single thing.
I do clothes on Sunday, linens/bedding on Saturday and Wednesday.

Laundry is an assigned chore in our home. I wash my clothes, my husband's clothes, and my four youngest's clothes on Sunday nights. That is usually six loads. Then it depends on whoever has laundry duty the rest of the week to do the other loads (around five or six, usually one or two a day). We change chores on Sunday evening, so the laundry has to all be washed, folded, and put away by the wearer of the clothes by then. This week it was my 8-year-old's job and he has one more load to do. If you want to wear something that is dirty and the laundry person has not gotten to it yet, then you are responsible to throw a load in with the item you wish to wear.

I try to do a little every day because I hate having to do it all at once. I find it much easier to do a little at a time

I usually try to do it all once a week but I usually end up having to do an extra load here and there or add in another day.

We do it as needed. I actually really need to do some right now when I get up cuz I need pants for tomorrow. It seems for the 3 of us my mom (53) me (22) and my brother (14). We have a crazy amount of laundry. But we also spill a lot. It ends up being one day a week unplanned my mom and I do back to back loads all day and then just one a day or every other day to keep caught up. We got way behind when our washer broke and we still haven't totally caught up.
That being said I'm gonna go do laundry right now. lol

there's only the 3 of us so we just tend to do it as we need it. "oh, gigi's only got two pair of clean socks, time to do the whites" kind of thing. hubby wll usually do all of his work outfits on a different day b/c it never seems to coincide w/ me and Gigi.
there is some as yet undiscovered scientific principal that causes families of four to produce as much as two times the laundry a family of three does despite only having one extra person

I have 2 days a week when I do the washings. I find it easier that way. Mondays I do mine, Jack's, Chloe's and Ella's clothes, towels, bedding, ect. On Fridays I do mum's, Addison's and Kendall's clothes, towels, bedding, and the boys stuffed animals they sleep with. I've got a system, haha.

I do all the washing on Monday. We only have two loads a week, my husband's work clothes and Rosie's uniforms are one and then house clothes are another.

I used to do 1-2 loads a day, several days a week. Now I try to have one designated laundry day and get it all over with. I usually end up doing another load halfway through the week-sweaty workout clothes, boys' sheets if they have an accident, etc.--but overall I really like getting it all done with at once.
