what is courgette bread?  I love any kind of bread but I have never heard of that before.

Sorry, I guess you would say zucchini!   Most people typically say courgette here.

Gotcha!  That is one of my favorites too.

These are my little ones' favourite snacks:

- apples and peanut butter or hummus

- carrots/celery/courgettes/cucumbers with a plain yogurt dip

- hummus and pita

- crackers with avocado dip (literally I just smush up avocados add some diced tomatoes, salt and pepper)

- home made courgette bread

- any type of fruit, mainly apricots, bananas, mangos, berries, melons and kiwi

- yogurt with pecans and/or granola

we try to modify things to make them healthier

we make popscicles out of purred fruit and a little apple juice.

Gigi likes lightly salted popcorn, she actually eats this ALOT. we used this from the beginning in place of chips.

also, if you can buy them in your area, WhoNu cookies are excellent. i borught some with ous to my parents house for thanksgiving and they ate more than the kids! they were so disappointed when they didnt find them at thier walmart. http://whonucookies.com/Nutrition.aspx

We love Who Nu cookies...I forgot all about them...I haven't bought them in a really long time...going to put these on my list for next week :)

I like to keep clear containers of healthy stuff in the fridge. I usually do:

fruit (berries, cantaloupe, watermelon ... stuff that won't brown)

veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, carrots)

hard boiled eggs

sliced grilled chicken

Then, on the counter, I keep Ball jars of other snacks:

nuts

wrapped dark chocolate

dried fruits

I find that having it very visible makes me more likely to choose them when I'm hungry!

That is a great idea...I definately eat things that I can see as to the things that are in darker containers...right now I have fudge in the fridge that is in a see through container and I leep sneaking some...I need to put healthy snacks in the clear container and hide the others :)

Ugh I hear you. I hate so badly over the holidays; I just had no impulse control. Now that most of the junk is out of the house, I'm back on track with 6 extra pounds to lose. :pMy favorite healthy snacks are celery or apples with PB, baby carrots with hummus, whole wheat crackers with low-fat spreadable cheese, almonds, light string cheese and Light & Fit yogurt.

Ugh. Me too. I never want to see junk food again.  Common healthy snacks in our house:

-carrots/broccoli and hummus

-apples/bananas and peanut butter

-an orange and a low fat string cheese (not sure why I like this combo but it's a common one)

-almonds
