Do you personally know anyone famous/a celebrity?
Do you have a close friend who is famous? Like you talk to them regularly, see them a lot, etc? If not, what celebrity would you like to be your best friend?

OMG Anabel.... I would have just died if I were your friend. Again I am totally not that type of person that swoons but just reading that story was making me smile :)

My BFF is the Senior Editor at a magazine (she's also been a Fashion Editor), and she's met a lot of people! I think some of the most memorable stories are ones like meeting NKOTB (she used to chase after them in HS, and now she sees them all the time!), and meeting Gerard Butler, who was hitting on her! She said she couldn't follow through with him, because she was there with co workers and it wouldnt have been professional. What?!!! Dude, that's Gerard Butler! You make up some lame-o excuse and take that man home with with you! LOL! I've only asked her to let me know if she's ever around Joseph Gordon Levitt or Michael Fassbender, because those are my 2 celeb crushes!

I guess it depends on who one considers famous. I have a lot of friends that are well known in the punk/noise music scene. The average person might not know who they are, though. I have freinds that are road managers for several well known bands and, although I don't hang out with them on a weekely basis or anything, I do see them with regularity.
I have met several famous/notable people, though, to more or lesser degrees:
Neil Young
Maynard Keenan (from Tool)
All the members of Pantera, except for Phil (I rode on a bus with these guys through the midwest while they were on tour for about 2 1/2 weeks)
Jon Davis from KORN (that's a long story of another day....)
Members of Fear Factory
Lee Ving from legendary LA Punk band FEAR
Don Bolles from The Germs
The Melvins
The Mother Hips
Phil Lesh of the Grateful Dead
Al Jardine from the Beach Boys
Ben Folds
Members of Alice in Chains
Bela Fleck and Vic Wooten from Bela Fleck and the Flecktones
The Black Crowes minus Rich Robinson
Radiohead
Mudhoney
Jello Biafra of the Dead Kennedys
Various Green Bay Packers
Bruce Boxleitner and Melissa Gilbert, when they were married, still.
Sheryl Crowe
Tom Selleck
I know there are more, I just don't know if anyone is interested in some of the others or who would know who they were. My best friend works in film and TV (sound design) and works on lots of shows and comes into contact with a lot of celebs. She had drinks next to Ryan Gosling the other day. She said "The Gos" was way more attractive in person than on screen.
I don't go guy crazy and not much makes me *swoon* but I don't think I could have contained myself if I sat next to Ryan Gosling. I am too infatuated with him
She said that he smiled and nodded to her. Then, when he went outside, she went outside with one of her friends...basically just to check out where he was going. But he only went to his CAR. lol. To get something. So he must have totally knew that she was somewhat trailing him. lol.
She said that he is very tall, which is something that doesn't come across to me on screen. She is 5' 9, and he towered over her, she said he looked like he was 6' 3" or something.
She also said the thing that made him all the more attractive in person is that he seemed incredibly down to earth and approachable. She didn't know who he was when he first came in...because I mean, she wasn't EXPECTING to see Ryan Gosling, you know. But she said he was so incredibly attractive that she knew he had to be someone famous. Then it clicked.

One of my brothers is a racehorse trainer (not just a stable boy, the actual head person) and s we get to meet the wonderful array of owners who are wanting Xavi to train their horses fr big races. Some of them have become firm friends of ours. I think some of them stay because of our accents though!

Nope, no one.
I would love to be friends with Dave Matthews.... I just think he seems like such an awesome, down to Earth person

I've met a bunch of celebrities but am not close to any of them ... well, other than my former boss who was well-known in that country in Asia. As for a celeb BFF ... eh, I don't know. I don't really keep up on celeb gossip and stuff so I don't feel like I "know" any of them well enough to want to be that close to them. ;)
i'm totally into asian music and entertainment so i have to ask, who was your boss???

I have a few and I have a few close friends who were once in the entertainment business but left because they didn't like it or were dropped.. I grew up acting and what not so over time you meet a quite a few people who make something of themselves. It's really weird for me to think of them as 'famous' though! I have one friend in particular who is so unlike the image she gives out it's like if I catch her in an interviews (whether telly, radio, magazine, ect) I don't know that person, I know who she really is, if that makes any sense.
