bubbabrown - it really does make such a difference. I more so love waking up - the room just seems so much lighter with the white curtains. I also just found a new cotton blanket that accents the quilt for less than half price - score!

Not really a splurge but I had a fun purchase today--I got storage and organization bins/drawers/etc for my beads/necklace making business! Feels better to be more organized.
It's always a splurge and fun to feel more organized....or is that just me...lol :)

Hmm. I wouldn't call it fun, but my husband got his bonus RIGHT when our garage door conked out. So we replaced it, with one probably nicer than we would've gotten otherwise. He bought a Keurig machine because he really wanted one, but we are all loving it. The kids keep offering to make us coffee or tea because they like to use it!
Well at least you had the money for the garage door when you needed it :) My kids do the same thing with our Keurig....we have had ours awhile and they still love making things for us...my son has also learned that he loves green tea :)

It wasn't a big splurge but I found a quilt on super clearance and got some new curtians for my bedroom. It is so nice in there now.... we haven't changed anything in there at all for 8 years
I so need to do this with our bedroom too....I want to wait until we move though so it will all be new at a new house :) I bet it feels so much nicer getting into bed...doesn't it? :)

I adore my Kuerig. Actually it is my SO's. It was his Crhistmas gift, but I use it just as much as he does!
I'm splurging on some hummingbird feeders for my yard. Some extra fancy ones that look beautiful in the sun! It might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I love when we have critters...furry or winged...in the yard.

my husband received part of his bonus so I bought a quality stainless steel pot and pan. I have been replacing my old cheap kitchen stuff gradually when we have a bit extra. It may not be fun but it makes me happy!
Do you like the stainless steel? I tried cooking with it but I burned everything - is there a special trick or am I a bad cook
The pot I got is very thick on the bottom and so far I am doing ok with it. It does heat up more slowly but it holds heat much longer so if I do have the temp too high it doesn't adjust right away, I have burned things. I still am using nonstick pans, just nicer ones, but I do like the stainless steel pots for things that I am constantly stirring. I am so tired of replacing the nonstick ones to just ruin them again. I never use metal utensils but they still lose the coating.
My favorite to cook with so far is the enameled cast iron cookware. I love how it performs but it is so darn expensive and has to be babied so much that I just can't do it. I chipped the one I received as a gift and that was it! No more.

Oh! I also bought an apple peeler and slicer. The old fashioned kind where you turn the handle and it spiral slices them! I have wanted one since second grade. My teacher had one and we all loved bringing apples for snack and slicing them. My daughter is having as much fun with it as I am.

Yes! I got a new three layer jacket for climbing and some new mountaineering boots. The jacket was on sale @ REI for $120 (from $240!) and the boots I got for $8. They were $300 mountaineering boots on sale for $208 and I had two $100 REI gift cards.

Cream Johns from my hometown bakery. It's a 40 minute drive from my house so going just for cream johns counts as a splurge. They are totally worth it though.

Our health ins co sent me $150 in Visa GCs for getting my annual physical done and completing a wellness profile online (I was THRILLED! :) ) and DH and I agreed I could spend it on whatever I wanted ... so I spent it all on clothes and accessories. :) Oh and this great pair of cognac boots that took me forever to find! (Had a hard time finding ones that fit me right.)
