What's your go-to excuse to get out of a playdate?

its hard enough to have playdates i usually dont back out most people just say their sick someone else is sick or they are busy. I sometimes back out group date nights more than anythng. (example going to the bar)

I tell the truth. Usually it's my husbands got hte car, my house is a mess or I'm just not looking up to it maybe another day and schedule another day.  We rarley have playdates but weo do have friends come over with kids and our kids play....we call it company though not play date. lol

I need to complete my Lesson Plan for the next two weeks.

My mothers vertigo is acting up and we can not leve her alone. 

Since we moved, I've been saying something like "Oh, sorry- we might have to go to NYC to take care of a few things with my mom down there"

But back when I was in NYC, I would just say I had another playdate already planned, lol.

ha!  Unfortunately not many of my friends have children so playdates are few and far between

Something urgent came up ~

We've never been to a playdate before. We just don't do it, but if I were in the predicament of wanting to bail out of one, I'll probably tell the other mom that something else comes up that I have to tend to.

I always try to keep the playdate but sometimes, as a voulnteer at a hospital, I have to go when called

I've never had to do this but I would imagine that if I weren't in the mood I would either tell the truth or say that something came up and we have to reschedule.

One of us isn't feeling well. But really, I never get out of a play date unless that's the truth. I look forward to them! I just don't schedule play dates with people I don't like. ;)
