Make your next night out a wine tasting date—'cause what's date night without a little vino? A wine tasting date is a super cheap date idea that comes in a neat, little, bottle-shaped package: wine (hooray!), no kids (cheers to you, legal drinking age) and a few swanky appetizers. Not to mention, alone-time with your mate!

No wineries near you? No problem! Lots of wine shops, liquor stores and restaurants have cheap wine tasting events, and often provide complementary appetizers for each wine. Just check out your local newspaper or do a quick search online for events in your area.

• Figure out which wines you like. There are soo many wines out there: Chianti, Bordeaux, Sauvig-say-what? Here's a simple way to figure out which wines you like: do your research! Pick up a few cheap bottles of wine the next time you're in the market and invite a few friends over for a nightcap.
  
• Eat a healthy dinner before the wine tasting. You can expect appetizers at the tasting, but make sure you fill up on healthy, high-fiber foods at home. Otherwise, you may risk having a—dun, dun, dun—wine-induced hangover. (And, honestly, who considers three cubes of cheese a meal?)
  
• Grab a cab, if you need one! This is a no-brainer. But we love you, and want you safe and sound, so no drinking and driving!
