Creative Date Ideas: Go on a Spa Date
When was the last time you had a relaxing day (HA!)? Or alone-time with your husband (HAHA!)? If you're like us, it was ... a long time ago. So, here's a creative date idea for you frazzled mamas: get some ahhh-worthy relaxation and grown-ups-only time on a spa date! It's a creative date that pulls double duty: you get to wind down and be pampered, for a change, and get some alone time with your mate!
Lots of spas offer packages for couples—from couples massages to mud baths to facial peels—so call around! Then ditch the kids at a friend's, shimmy into a terry cloth robe and relaaaax. Just try not to ruin the ambiance by laughing at your mud-masked-and-cucumbered guy.
Don't want to spend the big bucks on a spa date? Have an at-home spa day!
You can easily transform your bedroom into a spa—even if it looks like a toy store exploded in there. Scoop sippy cups and toys into a basket, and chuck it in one of the kids' rooms. Create a totally zen zone by lighting candles and playing tranquil music, which you can find on YouTube or iTunes.
Give each other massages, manis, pedis, the works! Use a massage handbook and try making your own facial scrubs with milk and sugar, or mango peel. (Remember: if you get hungry, try to refrain from eating your facial scrub. Even if it does look totally delicious.) Just skip the DIY-mud bath 'cause there are no well-paid attendants to clean up after you! Then, end your at home spa day happily. With fresh fruit and green tea, of course. Wink.
So, the next time you need creative date ideas and some time to chill out—also known as, "all the damn time"—have a spa date!
