Good Date Idea: Date Your Mate at the Bowling Alley
Here's how to make the most of your bowling date:
Get your plan. It's a good idea before the date to call the bowling alley ahead to make sure there are lanes available.
Get your groove on. Look for a bowling alley with live music. That way if you're throwing nothing but gutter balls, you can show off your moves on the dance floor.
Skip the competition. Loosen up&mdashlit's a date! A good idea to avoid getting too competitive about scores is to make up silly or unique rules. For example, try to knock down specific pins, or roll the ball down the lane granny-style.
Or make competition more interesting. Make a bet, or two, or three. Wager something fun like a foot massage or other—ahem—favors.
Remember your pre-children days. Sit at the bar for drinks and appetizers. Maybe even pretend you just met. There's nothing like flirting from a barstool.
Do it in the dark. Some bowling alleys offer neon bowling where the lights go down and the smoke machines set a party mood.
Do it in a group. Invite some other couples looking for a good date idea, then switch things around throughout the game, playing girls versus guys or couple against couple.
