Relationship Tips: How to Deal with Your Husband Working From Home
Relationship advice: If you're both around each other all the time, it's only natural you'd get sick of each other or take each other for granted. When one spouse works from home, it eliminates the line between work and play. But there are things you can do to keep your relationship strong.
Here are some relationship tips for when a husband is working from home:
- Make the most of non-work hours. Take time to start a hobby, take a night class or go out with a friend.
- Plan a weekly date night out of the house where you agree not to talk about anything that goes on at home during the day.
- Consider starting your own home-based business or taking a part-time job so you can get out of the house.
- Respect his work time and space and try not to disturb him with family matters while he is working from home. It might be helpful if he set certain "work" hours and a specific area which is "work only." Create some boundaries so he doesn't always feel like he's at the office—and you don't feel like just another one of his co-workers!
One last tip: Just because your husband is working at home doesn't mean he can't take a break! Plan something fun during a lunch break once a week. Ideally, something that will get you both out of the house and break up the routine!
