Can my baby feel when I have an orgasm?

An orgasm is a neurophysiologic phenomenon that occurs as a result of sexual stimulation. The clitoris and vagina have increased blood flow, the vagina decreases in size and the uterus, vagina and other pelvic muscles experience rhythmic contractions.

During orgasm, a woman may feel flushed, her heart rate may increase and there may be a fluctuation of different hormones. During pregnancy, a woman's body works hard to maintain a homostatic environment for the fetus. Since the baby's neural network is not connected to that of its mother, the baby would not feel an orgasm.

However, orgasms typically cause the release of oxytocin, the love hormone. And the baby definitely feels that.
