Postpartum Sex Drive
I lost interest in sex after having a baby a year ago. How can I regain it?
What you're experiencing is completely normal. After all, you are now a mother. You are totally focused on your child and you are probably walking around tired most of the time. However, it is important not to let your sex life go.
Here are some things to consider as you try to re-invigorate your sex life:
Couples must make time for each other on a regular basis.
Babysitters are very important. Don't hesitate to use them.
Make dates for sex.
Don't worry that the feelings aren't there right now.
Once you and your partner make the time (without a crying baby in the background) you both need to set the scene (a dinner, walk in the park, movie etc.) and then head for the bedroom. Lots of times the feelings will return in the doing!
Also, make sure that you don't forget about nurturing your marriage. The number-one mistake that couples make after the children arrive is letting "the couple" disappear. Don't let this happen. Try to make time for just the two of you, too.
