Spice Up the Bedroom With Feng Shui

If you want to spice up the bedroom, check out feng shui—the ancient art of design meant to balance the energy in a room to bring health and happiness. Believers swear by the 3,000-year-old Chinese practice and will tell you that their lives totally improved after implementing its practices. We can't promise it works, but hey, if there's a chance it's going to bring health and vitality (and spice!) to the bedroom, we're game.
Here are a few basic feng shui principles you can use to spice up the bedroom:
De-clutter! Get rid of the piles of crap everywhere! It's hard to feel sensual in a room covered in heaps of dirty laundry, stacks of bills and old, dirty plates (ew!). Get a bedroom set! OK, you don't need to invest in all new furniture, but feng shui masters say that at the very least your bedside tables should match and be the same size. If they aren't, you might suffer inequalities in your relationship. If you feel like splurging, experts suggest getting a solid headboard for the bed to bring a feeling of support to your relationship. (Not to mention your neck!) Check the corners! Stand in the doorway of your room and look into the far right corner. What do you see there? A trash bin? Dirty laundry? Dust balls the size of fists? This is important because feng shui experts consider this to be the "relationship" corner of the room. They say whatever you've got going on there will be reflected in your love life. So replace that pile of stinky socks with some fresh flowers or a pair of hot, burning candles. Hubba, hubba! Paint the town (or your room) red! Red is the color of passion. If you want to spice up the bedroom, consider painting the walls red or pink. Or pick up some red accents—like throw pillows or candles. Another trick is to hide a red piece of fabric under the bed to heat things up! Hey, we'll try anything!
