Ways to Recycle a TP Roll
Your family goes through so much toilet paper you sometimes wonder if you're single-handedly keeping Charmin in business. Before you toss all those empty TP rolls, check out these ingenious ways to reuse them!
- Use one as a hair accessories holder.
- Store extension cords between uses. Coil the cord into a figure-eight and slide it into a toilet paper roll.
- Use one as a test to see if something's a choking hazard. If you can easily slide an item into the opening, it's too small for a child under 3 to safely play with.
- Have your kid make toy binoculars out of two of them.
- Use as a unique gift box. Place small presents inside, along with some tissue paper, wrap it and tie the ends with ribbons. This is a great way to package party favors!
- Use one as a rolled poster or document holder when you can't find a rubber band.
- Make musical instruments out of them, like a kazoo or a noisemaker.
- Store tights and pantyhose in them. Label the tubes for easy access.
- Make napkin rings. Trim them down and cover in your favorite decorative paper.
- Give one to your pet hamster, gerbil, mouse or rat to play with and/or eat.
- Invite your kid to paint circles with them.
- Use them as big (cheap!) Tinkertoys and let your kid build stuff with them.
- Store plastic grocery bags in them.
