Get Organized: Declutter Your Home, Fast!

A parent's life is filled with so much stuff: yours, your partner's, your kids'—even the darn dog's! And once you accumulate just a teeny bit of clutter, it seems to skyrocket into a heck of a lot in what seems like no time flat. Before you get completely buried, give yourself a fresh start!

What you need is to do is get organized! Yup, follow this guide and whip your home into shape in just 4 weeks. We swear, with these quick get-organized tips, it will be easier than it seems. And getting a grip on the chaos will feel amazing.

Here's what to do (be sure to click through on each step for details to help you get organized!):
>Step 1: De-clutter your bagThis one small, easy task is a big step toward lightening your load (literally). Take everything out of your bag except your wallet, keys, cell phone and anything else you use on a daily basis. Your wallet? Clean that out too. Then group other necessary items together (kids' items, beauty items, etc.) and voila! Much easier to find what you need.
> Step 2: Get rid of toy clutter Probably the biggest step to get organized at home is to handle the toy situation (admit it, it's gotten out of hand). Send any toys your kids have outgrown to storage, donate them to charity or hand them down to their younger cousins. Invest in some great, easy-to-use storage bins, baskets or boxes that your kids can use to stash their toys when they're not playing with them.
Step 3: Clean out the car Most of the stuff in your car can probably be tossed, are we right? Keep the essentials—insurance and registration info, GPS, cell phone charger—and ditch the old cereal and empty juice boxes.
Step 4: Finding "mom time" Yup, this is a home organization tip. Here's where you need to get creative in not only decluttering your home but finding ways to make everything faster. So get creative. If it means home organization projects like cleaning out your closet so you can get ready quicker in the morning, or planning out meals for the week so you don't spend a ton of time with last-minute grocery shopping, do it. Home organization isn't just about the house looking nice, it's about making life simpler for you. (Don't you deserve some "me time," mama?)
Step 5: Staying organized No, it's not easy, but if you make a little extra effort to get organized, you just may save yourself from having to do another huge overhaul. Take a few minutes every day to get organized and you'll avoid a massive pile-up.

So get started and get a grip on the clutter!
