I tend to switch between two or three bags, and this means I often forget stuff. Should I just try to stick with one purse for a week to stay organized?
Sure, if you want you could stick with one handbag per week to minimize the amount of transferring you do and make your life a little simpler. But let's face it: we love to switch up our look by changing handbags more often than once a week. So, if you're into the idea of switching things up but don't love the idea of it being a hassle, here's how to get organized to make your handbag to handbag transfer smoother:
Create a bag "switching station." One of the ways to get organized is to keep everything you need for a task like this all in one place. So designate a corner of your closet, or a shelf or special hooks for your handbags. Keep all the "extras" that go in and out of your bags, like different wallets, pouches, extra makeup, etc., in a specific drawer or bin. That will make it all easy to find.
Create a checklist. It's easy to forget something important as you switch from one purse to the other, so create a checklist of your biggest necessities. If you're really into it, you can laminate your list and post it near the bags, or write it on a small card and keep it in your wallet so it doesn't get lost in the shuffle.
Group stuff together. When you put your items into your handbag, be sure to get organized by grouping them together, so they're easy to find when you need them. Make them even easier to transfer by keeping groups of items in zippered pouches (one for money, one for makeup, one for power cords, etc.) that can easily transfer from one bag to the next.
Pack ahead. If possible, pack your purse the night before. It's much easier to get organized when you don't feel rushed!
