- New sheets & throw blankets: If your sheets have seen better days, or if you can see through your sheets, spend a few bucks on a few new sets. (You can get high-quality sheets on the cheap in the home decor section of Marshalls or TJ Maxx.) And a few strategically placed throw blankets can give your entire bedroom a comfy, homey feel.
- Wall decor: Dress up your bare walls with a photo collage! It's a supercheap, eclectic way to add some dimension to your bedroom. Scour thrift stores or the sale aisle at your fave home-goods store for cheap frames in different sizes and colors. Then, display family photos in the frames and, voilà!
- New lighting: The right lighting can totally make a space—and totally set the mooood. Pick up a small table lamp or two and place them in the darker corners of your bedroom.
- A new area rug: When all else fails (or when the carpet in your bedroom is stained), invest in a new area rug. Area rugs can help define a space—especially when you're working with contrasting colors—and brighten up dull carpeting.
