Get Organized: Cleaning the House With Your Partner
I like to clean out my house quickly, but my husband likes to take his time deciding what he still wants. What's the solution?
I totally understand your frustration, but I think there is a reasonable compromise that can be worked out. In reality, your husband may be on a different schedule than you and it's fair to give him a chance to go through the items if he isn't available for the organizing project on the same day as you are.
Set up an agreement with your husband about how long he has to go through the items after you've done your weeding. Designate a specific area to place them in and then tell him that they will only be there for the next three days, a week, whatever the two of you agree upon. Post a big sign right above the stack or boxes indicated the "Toss" date. Just be sure to follow through and get them out of the house on the day you designated.
Happy organizing!
