Getting Your Child to Help Clean Up
When your playroom starts to look like a tsunami blew through it, it's a good time to start teaching your toddler to help clean up his toys. (His future wife will thank you later.) Here, our top tips:
Lead by example. Get in there an pick up toys with him. Once he sees how you get things started, he'll be able to do it himself.Be realistic about your expectations. Don't expect the toy box to pass a white glove test, and remember that kids' abilities depende on their age. Set reasonable cleaning expectations for your child, so you're not setting them up for a task that's too big for them.report abuse
- Turn cleanup into a game. Set a timer and see how many toys he can pick up in a minute. Or give him a point for every toy he puts away. Or check out these other awesome cleanup games.
