Makeup for Moms: Makeup-Case Basics

Emme's Beauty & Makeup Tips

As glamorous as it sounds to have a vanity table stocked with every shade of eye shadow, blush and lipstick, the reality is you don't need all those things. If you're serious about sticking to a routine and being true to your skin tone, you need very little for your day-to-day makeup. (Now, date nights are another story!)

Here are the bare necessities for your makeup stash:

  • A moisturizing primer
  • A base with SPF that pumps up the volume of your skin
  • A white eye shadow to brighten eyes right in the corners and slightly under the eye (under concealer)
  • Blush that works with your skin tone
  • Basic black mascara (fresh)
  • Black eye pencil that pops and not drops your eyes (stick to the top lids only)
  • Brow pencil that is not too far off from your hair color
  • Eye lash curler
  • Lip glosses of every shade and depth
  • Tweezers
You know that Billy Joel song "Just the Way You Are"? Well, put it on your playlist and remind yourself that you don't have to go changin'. What's more, you don't need to break the bank to look and feel beautiful.
