I really don't like the parents of my child's best friend, and they want to be friends. What should I do?
First of all, I commend you for not interfering with the friendship your daughter has with this other child. Actually, her relationships can be totally separate from the relationships you develop or don't. I would suggest that you talk with your daughter about your feelings, letting her know that your discomfort around the other parents is no reflection on the friend or your support of the friendship. And you may even respond to the parents' next invitation by letting them know you have a policy to allow your daughter to pursue friendships without your involvement. Be true to yourself—and honest with your daughter.
