Mom on the Verge of a Meltdown

A fellow mom is having a rough time with her kids. What's it to you?

You're at the mall and you see a kid having a five-alarm meltdown over a bag of M&M's. Do you shake your head and judge the mom for not keeping her kid in check or do you just thank your lucky stars it isn't you in the hot seat?

Blogger Stacy of Midlife Army Wife knows what it's like to get nasty looks when her kid acts out in public. People don't realize that Stacy's 6-year-old daughter has Asperger's syndrome, sensory processing disorder and ADHD.

So when Stacy saw a mom desperately trying to deal with her autistic son's outburst while paying at the supermarket, she could relate. Instead of giving the other mom the evil eye, Stacy spoke up and told the mom she was doing an awesome job.

"It's easy to make snide comments or to glare at someone when you see imperfect behavior, but it's much harder to step out and offer assistance," Stacy says.

What do you think? Would you ever reach out and try to help a frazzled mom?
