Got Mommy Brain?

Where oh where has my memory gone? I remember the commercial from the 1980s that said "This is your brain on drugs" and then showed the famous fried egg. There was no such warning for how kids affect your brain in the exact same way. It's called the "mommy brain." Or mommy brain syndrome. Or something like that. I can't remember anymore.

I am the knower of all—but the rememberer of nothing. I forget why I opened the cupboard door or why I entered the room. One of my personal favorites is when I can't remember where I put something and in the process of trying to remember where I left it, I forget what I was looking for.

I have recently decided to start exercising and watching my diet. I need to take care of myself because if I ever have a stroke, no one will be able to tell!

I've tried writing myself reminders for things, but then I forget to read them. Someday my kids will be older and I'll have fewer things to remember. Hopefully, my brain will be working again by then.
