Life Balance: When Is the "Right" Time to Have Kids?

I've been in a relationship for almost four years and am wondering when the "right" time to start a family is.
My boyfriend is 10 years older than I am and does not have any children and would love to start our family. I absolutely love children (used to be a nanny in college). I am 23 and my boyfriend is 33. I work in a professional environment and make great money, and my boyfriend makes good money doing something he loves. Do you ever really know when the "right" time is? How? Any advice would be great!
