I have a 6 year old and her doctor was my doctor when I was smaller, but she stays so booked I can never get in to make an appointment. I am always referred to another doctor, he is much less babyish with my 6 year old. He likes kids to be independent and do things on thier own. So do I. So i happended to ask my ob about him and all of him compliments where great!
I'm using my childhood pediatrician. I'm lucky enough to live in the same neighborhood I grew up in so the doctor knows my family history and we are already closely acquainted. It's been awesome to have deep trust in my baby's physician. When we move next year I'm going to miss her but I'm sure she'll have gotten my son off to a healthy start!
I'll be using the one on base, unless I feel totally wrong about it. Getting a civilian referral is a pain in the patootie, so it'll have to be worth it.
I am going to use the same dr. I had for my son... since my son has Sickle Cell Anemia, I figure my daughter has a chance of having it too. So I will keep it simple with one doctor.
I did major research on my daughters ped and my son will be going to the same one, if I stay with them. The dr's are good at their job but its too coporate like of an atmosphere.
My son doesnt go to a pediatrician. he goes to our family doctor. I love it because they don't see alot of babies and they really give us the special treatment. They give us the earliest appts so we dont have to bring our young children in with all the sickly people. After i got my results for my pregnancy test, all the nurses came in to tell us congrats and they were excited to have another baby patient.
im using my old pediatrician me and my little sister had the same one but since i dont go to her any more but i know she good and knew her for years im going to bring me baby to her
We're going to use the same group of pediatricians my mother used for me and my siblings. My whole family loves them, even my aunts, uncles and grandparents. That is also how I decided on who was going to deliver my baby, since i was not seeing a OBGYN regularly. The DR that delivered me is also delivering my baby. My mother has lived in this area her whole life and has known these doctors for years. So far every one of the doctors she's recommended has been wonderful and extremely well educated in their field. One of the pediatricians even saved my deaf uncles life when he was just a baby.
My husband researched pediatricians in our area and then set up appointments with the three that were closest to us and had good references. We went on a meet and greet to each and then chose the doc that was closest, had the best office hours (evenings and weekends!) and that we felt the best connection with (he is our age and has a 10 month old daughter. It took a bit of work on my husband's part but in the end we have a doc that we really like.
