Should I just go to the childbirth classes that my hospital offers?
Your decision whether or not to take your hospital's childbirth class depends on what your needs and wants are. Do a little research to find out what your hospital's childbirth classes are all about—baby basics, a specific breathing method, etc.—to help you make the right decision for you and your partner.
The most important thing to remember is that no matter which birthing approach you choose or classes you take, you won't have absolute control over your experience. It's important to remember that medical issues can arise at any moment in the delivery room. You have to be prepared to be flexible.
Your health and your baby's health are the number-one priorities, so if you need an emergency C-section when you were planning on an all-natural birth, try to focus on the happy result and not on how your birth plan fell through.
