My Midwife and I Might Be In Labor at the Same Time!

Submitted by brandibell
I'm 28 weeks along. The problem is ... so is my midwife!

This is my second pregnancy and my plan is to do labor and delivery the natural way. My midwife has been very supportive of this decision and thinks it's a great idea.

My problem is that she is due two days before I am and I'm not sure I want to go into labor without her there to support me during the birthing experience. No one else in my family has fully supported this decision and my husband thinks I'm either going to go freaking crazy during the labor and delivery or be the biggest b**** - or both.

He's said a few times that he doesn't want to be in the labor and delivery room with me (although I think he only says that because he's afraid of those aforementioned things), but I really need someone there who understands what I'm going through and can coax me to relaxation when labor and delivery really gets tough.

Should I find someone else to support me, just in case she has her baby before I have mine?
