To Texas We Go?
Submitted by ThisBabyMomma
All right, I admit I'm a bit of a pushover, but for some strange reason, I assumed that since I'm the one who's pregnant, my baby daddy would kinda let me have my way a little more and be more understanding. So here's the situation:
He recently took up mixed martial arts classes for a second time (super-inconvenient timing since we have bills to pay and a baby to prepare for and only one of us is working) and has his first fight coming up towards the end of January. Betcha can't guess what else is coming up towards the end of January. My due date. Oh, and the fight is in Texas and we live in Tennessee.
Now, he actually expects me to drag my ready-to-pop self to Texas to see his fight. My common sense is screaming "NO. Knowing your luck, you'll go into labor in Texas WITHOUT your family and doctor, you crazy woman!" So, I rationally and calmly explain this to him. He takes it as me not being supportive when I feel it's the other way around. He says regardless, he's going to this fight.
How could he risk missing the birth of our first child? And how could he be OK with the possibility that I could go into labor in an unfamiliar environment with unfamiliar people? So, I've told him that we will just wait until January and see how things go as we get closer to the big day and ask the doctor if he thinks there's a chance I could go into labor around that time. But that still doesn't suffice my selfish man.
Am I overreacting to the situation? It's causing arguments every time the topic is brought up and stressing me out. Help!
