Interpreting Home Pregnancy Test Results
- If you get a positive test result, you're most likely pregnant. When errors occur, they are more likely to result in false negatives.
- If your test comes back negative, but you still haven't gotten your period, take another test. You could have ovulated a few days later than usual during this particular cycle.
- If your test shows a very faint positive, take another test in a few days (to see if your hormone levels have started to climb.)
- If your first test is positive, but a subsequent test is negative, you could have had an early miscarriage.
By the time all of these steps are complete, you'll be at least four weeks into your pregnancy and you'll be ready to head into month two. Hello, baby!
