Avoiding Too Much Pregnancy Weight Gain

Your everyday dishes are the size of your dad's old vinyl records. Unfortunately, that means you're eating way bigger portions than you need to—including those extra pregnancy calories. Reduce portion sizes to avoid excessive pregnancy weight gain by serving dinner on 9-inch plates, instead. Research shows that you eat a third less of "bad" foods if they're in smaller containers, which will cut your pregnancy weight gain.
