Plus-Sized and Pregnant - Dealing with Pregnancy Weight Gain
Submitted by LJJarvis817
Alright, so I had never had this problem with my first pregnancy, and I was the same size I am now; my son carried differently of course than this one. I looked less pregnant then, but everyone always knew I was.
So now, I live in a different state and work at our airport. The other night, I was standing behind the counter, and there was a family sitting, waiting for the flight to come in. I am 7 months pregnant and with my pregnancy weight gain LOOK 7 months pregnant; this baby sits very high, and, although I am a big girl, there is no mistaking my belly for a pregnant belly. But as I stood talking to a friend and rubbing my tummy because it was sore, I heard the father say to the family "I'm not sure if she's pregnant or just fat." Seriously!? Did I just hear him right, is all that I thought. Because you know us big girls, we love to just stand around bringing attention to our stomachs by rubbing them even if there's nothing in there.
I could have just slapped the guy. If you don't know, then don't make the statement. What kind of message are you sending to your kids this way? Yes, captain ***hat, big girls can be pregnant too!
