Pregnancy Nausea and Prenatal Vitamins
Before giving up on prenatal vitamins, try taking them in the evenings—often, pregnant women can tolerate vitamins better at night than in the morning. If the pill still comes up, you might want to ask your health care provider about switching to a different brand or type of vitamin. Some women find liquid or children's vitamins more tolerable.
Prenatal vitamins are most important during the first 10 weeks of your pregnancy, which unfortunately is when pregnancy nausea is often at its worst. If you simply can't keep the vitamins down, ask your doctor about a folic acid supplement, because folic acid is a key nutrient during early pregnancy.
Finally, make sure you're eating a well-balanced diet. Getting plenty of nutrients from food is ultimately more important than taking a supplement.
