Is it Safe to Have Sex During the Third Trimester of Pregnancy?

Is it safe to have sex during my last trimester?

As long as one has not been cautioned not to have sex during pregnancy by one's doctor, it is safe to have sex in the eighth and ninth months of pregnancy. Conditions that might preclude sex during this time include: vaginal bleeding during the pregnancy, which might be caused by a placental abnormality; premature labor (cervical dilation prior to 36 weeks gestation); preterm premature rupture of membranes (water breaks); or any one of a myriad of other conditions.
