Induce Labor by Having Sex

Creeping up on your due date and labor seems light-years away? Ask your practitioner if it's OK to try to induce labor naturally. Some midwives and doctors will recommend having sex to jumpstart early labor, as sperm contains prostaglandins, which can ripen the cervix. What's more, if you orgasm, your body releases oxytocin, the bonding hormone, which causes contractions. So while sex may not seem possible given your big ol' belly, chances are your man won't pass up the opportunity to, um, pitch in. (And no, you can't hurt the baby!) Just think: You can go from knocked up to knocked out! And the same thing that got you pregnant in the first place might possibly get you into labor!
