Weight Gain?
Ok, so I know it's dumb to worry, but I was all thinking I was behind on weight with my 6 pounds at 14 weeks. Then I'm looking at a stupid calculator and it's saying I should have only gained 1-5 pounds at this time! So this is my 2nd one, and I'm afraid I'm going to gain too much. Any tips? Where are you at with your weight gain?

Thanks ladies! I know one pound is dumb, but I guess I thought I was doing really well with weight, and then I heard that...as others have said, it's been nearly a week since I gained any weight, and I'm not doing anything stupid, and was not underweight, but relatively near that end. Thanks for the encouragement!

1st pregnancy I lost 20lbs the first 3 months, due to food aversions. But gained back more than enough the 6-9th month. I gained back 37lbs by the end of my pregnancy, but lost it all by 4 months postpartum.
2nd pregnancy, I'm 39 weeks right now and I didn't lose any in the beginning, so I've gained a total of 20lbs. And the last couple of weeks I've been gaining and losing a few pounds either way every week. The doctor said its normal to peak during the last few weeks.
Everyone is just so different!

Well look at it this way, every book you read or dr. you talk to will tell you that every pregnancy is different for every woman. So then it stands to reason that every woman will gain weight differently. You might be 1lb over the suggested weight gain right now, but maybe you will have 3 weeks where you dont gain weight at all. With my second baby I had not gained any weight till I was about 16 weeks then in a 3 week period I gained 15 lbs!!! but altogether at full term I had only gained a grand total of 28 lbs. I was way within the recommended 25-35 lbs but I didnt gain it on " schedule" . to sum up.... Your fine on your weight don't stress about it.. there is WAY to much to worry about being pregnant without worrying about 1lb. Good luck

I have read in alot of places it is better not to gain weight until your second trimester. If you gain during your first it is harder to lose after the baby is born. If you are underweight then it is a bit different and should probably gain throughout. BUT I am 21 weeks and have gained only 4 lbs. I lost 6 during my first trimester. As long as your tummy is growing and baby is growing then It doesn't matter if you dont gain any extra weight besides baby weight.

You really can't look at those weight calculators and stress about being 1 pound more than it recommends. I mean 1 pound is no biggie. It coulv'e been time of day, what you ate, whether or not you had pooped, or maybe you are 1 pound extra...but so what?? In my opinion if you are more than 5 pounds over the recommendation I would talk to the doctor or widwife about it as a concern but not a need to panic.
With your second child you are going to gain weight faster. It's called the warmed-up effect. Your body will adapt to pregnancy quicker and that includes the weight gain.
When I was at 14 weeks pregnant I had gained 7.5 pounds. ANd this is my FIRST. I have always been small so I felt a little shocked myself too. But, consider your boobs? Have they been feeling heavier? Are your hips widening? You're body is just adjusting for the baby and delivery, don't panic and don't be so worried, it's totally healthy and your weight gain is def not excessive.

Relax 1 lb for every 2 weeks puts you at about 20 lb weight gain and you lose about 20 lb when you give birth so you are okay. In fact I am 18 weeks and lost 12 lbs in the first 13 weeks and haven't gained a single lb back. worry does it in the back of my mind but the dr isnt concerned. And he is still a tall baby.
