I went in for my 37 week check up and was starting to have what I thought were contractions. She told me they were, and that I should just watch them, as they may continue or they may stop, so we went to my parents for my belated birthday party. I had them all night, but didn't want to get anyone's hopes up, so I said nothing, but made my husband take me home relatively early, as it was hard to pretend nothing was going on! Then, at about 9:00 pm, they stopped, and I slept sooo well! But when I woke up, I was ticked, because I thought I was going to have my baby and didn't want to wait any more! While I was fuming about the contractions stopping, they started back up at about 9:00 am! I called my husband and he came home at lunch, and we just walked around and timed them for a while, and when they got closer together, we went in. The dang nurse told me I wasn't having contractions, which irritated me, and she made the dr. come in and tell her that I was having contractions, but in the back, so they weren't showing up on the stupid monitor. They broke my water, and I dilated so quickly that I couldn't have an epidural, so I just got som basic meds, but that was enough! I pushed for 2 hours and my daughter showed up healthy and 6 lbs 7 oz at 8:58 pm, so I didn't lose a night of sleep, which I was grateful for, as I lost many after that!

Haha I was obsessed with reading those too, and watching the birthing videos :P

heres mine:

I was due March 20th 2011, and on March 23 my doctor asked me if i wanted to be induced, of course I didnt want to wait any longer, so I went to the hospital for 7am march 24th, started the pitocin around 11am. My doctor came and broke my water at 1PM and thats when I REALLY started feeling the contractions. I went into the hydrotherapy tub but it just got worse, the jets in the tub made my legs numb, I wasnt ready for an epdural yet but I needed some sort of pain relif, so she gave me a shot of morphine & something else I think.. didnt take the edge off, just made me cranky and sleepy. So I walked alot and liked to stand or hunch over during contractions. In the meantime around 5 the doctor came in to check me, which sucks btw lol i kept saying no but eventually I had to let him, they need to check you while you have a contraction which is not fun! lol and I was ready for my epidural, except the guy who does it was in surgery, so around 7PM he showed up, gave me my epi, and I slept until about 10, then the nurse came to check me and she was surprised to see that I was ready to push. The epidural didnt freeze me allthe way and i could feel slight cramping in my right side when i was having a contraction but it wasnt painful, it was actually helpful because I knew when I had to push and when to stop. I pused for about a half hour and my daughter was born March 24th 2012 at 10:50PM :)

Good luck, youll do great!! :)

Baby #1:

At 38 weeks I noticed that the baby was not moving at all in utero (she was extremely active throughout the whole pregnancy). So my mom suggested I go to the hospital to get monitored to make sure everything was ok. I thought this was silly and was a bit embarassed when I went. The nurses were wonderful and took me to a delivery room where they monitored the baby's heart rate for about an hour. tehn they sent me to get an ultrasound which I thought was a bit strange. I got a bit nervous when the technician calle dmy dr right away. My dr then got on the phone with me and instructed me to go home, get my things and come back with my husband in one hour, they were going to induce me that day.

Turns out for whatever reason, most of my amniotic fluid was gone (which can be extremely dangerous for the baby).

So I was induced that evening and the next morning was in labour. I went through 2 hours of contractions and got the epidural, as I knew I was not going to be able to tough it out. I then slept for 2 hours, woke up, was fully dialted and ready to go. I pushed for 2 hours and then my baby girl was born. 6 lbs 8 ozs.

All in all it was a pretty easy labour and delivery. I am expecting # 2 and am very scared as I know I will not have it this easy again. I only pray that I can make it ot the hospital in time to get an epidural....

ok baby #1. I was 39 weeks and had, had a lot of scares and worries during my pregnancy that he might have had down syndrom, or was not growing right, so I was way stressed out my whole pregnancy. By 39 weeks we knew that everything was ok and I was way uncomfortable.... so my husband read up on ways to naturally induce labor ( my dr. wont induce unless your past 40 weeks). He had me try everything from going to the park and swinging on swings, nipple stimulation being intamite, going for LONG walks ( lol all of this on the same day by the way), then took me out for mexican food, I got up to use the restroom when I came back I found that he had doused my food with hot sauce. I dont care for spicy food but, that was suppose to put you in labor too soooooo I ate it all. 8 hours later I started having braxton hicks with lower back pain and they kept getting worse so I figured it was labor. We went to the hospital and I was in labor but it was going VERY slow. I didnt want to have an epidural but I was in my 36th hour of active labor and my body started to shake uncontrollably and the dr. was afraid I would not have the stregth to push when the time came so she recommended an epidurl so I could rest. I got one and slept for about 45 minutes and I was at 10 cm. so I started pushing and with 4 good pushes out poped my HEALTHY baby boy 6lbs 4 oz.

my second was sooo different.  I went into preterm labor at 33 weeks and I was dialated to 2 cm so the dr. gave me an injection to help the babys lungs develop and then gave me pills to keep me from dilating, it dropped my blood pressure a lot so I was on bed rest til I was 37 weeks. The pills were suppose to keep me from having contractions altogether but all they did was keeping me from dilating I kept having painful contractions for the next 4 weeks. once the dr. gave me the ok to go off the meds I thought I would start dailating but I didn't I kept having painful contractions for another week with no progress. So by 38 weeks I was soooo tired the dr. went ahead and stripped my membranes. that night the contractions got more painful but then stayed  level till morning, I took a bath at 830 am got out and my contraction was so painful I couldnt stand up got. we went to my moms to drop off my son headed to the hospital at 9 got there at 945am, I got dressed in a gown and I felt like I needed to push, the nurse laughed and said well we will check you but I am sure it will still be a while. She checked me and I was 10cm fully effaced and she said OH MY dont push yet I will get the dr.. I asked if I could have something for the pain and she said " oh no honey its past that point, we are just going to have a birthday" and then the dr. came in clothes and gloves were flying and my son was born at 10:05 am. If I had taken 10 more minutes dropping off my son we would have had a baby in the car. lol he was born healthy and strong at 6lbs 6oz

wonder what baby number 3 will be like 9.5 weeks to go

Here's mine:

I saw my doctor on Tuesday when I was 40 weeks excatly. She checked me and I was 2 cm and 75% effaced. The rest of the day and all day Wednesday I was real crampy but just in my back so I figured it was normal for just being checked. We scheduled me to be induced on Thursday at 6 am. So we went to bed Wednesday and at 2:45 Thursday morning, I woke up with bad cramps in my back like I had to go #2. So I went to the bathroom and that gave me no relief. So I sat on the floor, still getting really bad cramps then all of a sudden, I felt a pop in my vagina (felt like a balloon popping) and a gush of water. So I told my husband my water broke and he didn't believe me at first. Then we rushed off to the hospital. They admitted me and I walked around and rocked in a rocking chair till about 9 am when the doctor came in and I was only 3 cm. I was put on pitocin about 5 am so by 9 I was ready for the epidural. I got the epidural at 10:45 and slept til 12 noon because the nurse said my contractions were causing the baby's heartrate to drop because she was so low. At 12:30 they checked me and I was 10 cm and ready to push. It was an awesome feeling and having my husband tell me everything that was going on was totally awesome. This was both our first baby so we didn't know what to expect. At 1:16 my beautiful baby Abigail Harper was born weighing 8 pounds 14 ounces and 20 inches long.

I wish you and your family as easy a delivery as we had!

Ok, here goes!

With my first:

I was 32 weeks pregnant and just didn't feel right. He wasn't moving at all one day (Sunday) and I was worried so the next a.m. I went to the Dr's on Monday and  they said I didn't feel him moving as much because my placenta was up front blocking his kicks. I thought that was weird because i felt him kick lots of times! Anyway, early Tuesday morning I started having contractions that I mistaked for braxton hicks. They got stronger and stronger so  went to hospital, thinking it was false labor because they didn't hurt. When I got to the hospital I was in a lot of pain and they checked me and I was 9cm!!! Turns out I was in labor and didn;t know it and the Dr would have known if they checked my Monday morning. He was 8 weeks early and weighed 4lbs but was very healthy and was only in the hopsital 24 day!

With #2:

Labor started at 38 weeks (after being on bedrest due to preterm labor signs again). I got to hospital and was 3cm at 10 pm. I thought I was much farther along because this time it was so painful! They checked me at 11pm and I was 4cm and I told them I wanted an epideral. Well, there was no time. She was born at 12:26a.m. It was so fast!!

We will see what #3 brings!!!

Good luck!
