Last night around 11pm I had to go to the bathroom.  Well because I've had so many problems this pregnancy I constantly check for bloody discharge when I'm done and last night when I looked into the toilet there was this huge blob of snot like stuff in there.  Well the first thing I did was look it up when I found out that it could be my plug and everything I read said to call the do for I called the doctors answering service and had him call me back.  One of the first questions out of his mouth was "are you having contractions?". To which I said no.  He ten told me to keep an eye on things and to call him back I contractions started.

What would like to know from you ladies is: have any of you ever lost your plug this early and when did you go into labor afterwards?

You can lose your plug and have it grow back multiple times during pregnancy. As long as you're not contracting and you're not dilating, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

As everyone else has said, sound like your plug. But you can lose it in pieces, I did. Although I ended up being induced so I can't really say. But indeed watch for contractions and any more mucus. I know you're probably panicking a bit, but 34 weeks is safe if it does happen.

Good luck!

I lost my mucus plug twice before going into labor. I lost it at 38 weeks then again at 40 weeks and went into labor at 40 weeks and 2 days. It's different for everyone, but it is totally possible to loose it more than once before going into labor.

I lost my plug when I was induced, and that definitely sounds like what it is.... it doesn't always mean you're going to go into labor. Like the doc said, if you start having contractions then I would be concerned, if not I wouldn't worry about it :)

I never "lost" my plug... (i just had a lot of discharge for a month or so). If you did lose it, don't panic! Do as your doctor says... if you get regular contractions call your doctor back!

That does sound like it was your MP. I didn't lose mine before getting induced but best of luck to you; hopefully you can keep that baby cooking at least another 3-4 weeks!

Sounds like that was your plug to me. I began losing parts of my plug at 33 weeks. I continued losing small amounts until I was 36 weeks, then it stopped for a couple of weeks and continued again at 38 weeks. I didn't deliver until I was 39w5d..and I was induced. Losing your plug isn't an indication that you're about to go into labour. Although some women do go into labour a day or so after they lose their plug..but that doesn't mean it was because of their plug. Losing it just means your body is making the changes needed to deliver :) good luck!
