FEATURED: Are boys better or girls?
We're having a boy! Just found out yesterday. We both hoped so for a little sweet girl but saw the package and that was it :)
Although briefly disappointed, we're getting used to the idea. Everyone is telling us that boys are so much better and easier and we'll see. Has anyone found that? Does it just depend on parenting?
Ps, any boy name suggestions? :)

I have twins - one of each.
My daughter is by far the difficult child at this point in time but she is delayed which is a lot of the issues.
Before I had these two I always thought "I HAVE to have a girl!!" If I had two boys (now that I have them) I know I would be okay. My son is the sweetest little boy on the planet and I am totally smitten by him!
Congratulations on your little boy~!

LOL -- This is too true. I have six boys and we have enough energy and drama to share with the whole freakin' world. It hasn't gotten and less energetic or dramatic as they've aged either, haha.
Anyways, OP, I love having boys! I think it would probably be fun to have a girl, but honestly it would mess up my system that I have perfected. I know exactly how to care for a baby boy, how to potty-train, how to tire them out, how to dress them accordingly, where to shop, what to buy, when to buy it, where to go to school, how to keep them entertained, which activities to do, and if I had a girl I'd have to learn it all over again. Boys are fun! They are silly and from my experience they hold onto their innocence longer than girls do. It seems like little girls are more worried about appearance and what people are talking about than little boys are. My friends with little girls end up having their daughters listening to their conversations while my boys could not careless about what I'm chatting about and are busy digging for worms or chasing each other around.
:) Thanks so much. If you start a blog about those handy tips you mentioned, I'd be an avid follower. :) xxx

I agree that it depends on the kid. I've heard people say that boys tend to be energy and girls tend to be drama. Well, I have two boys and we have PLENTY of energy and LOADS of drama as well. ;) I've also heard sometimes boys are harder when they're younger but girls in the teen years. I don't know; I think it's hard to generalize. Congrats on your little boy, hope everything goes smoothly for you guys!

We felt the exact same. Really really wanted a girl and that package wasn't for being hidden. Well he's 10 months old now and I wouldn't change him for the world but I can't deny that I still crave a girl. Like others, I don't think one is better than the other. You take what you get and my little boy is just my whole world, he is amazing and so inquisitive and interested in everything. Congratulations!! What sort of names do you like? My son is called Elijah (nn Eli)

I think that depends on the child and, more importantly, the way the parents raise them. All kids are going to have their difficult moments whether they are boys or girls. That being said all I wanted was a little girl and would have been really disappointed if I had a boy but sometimes when I saw my husband interact with my nephews and it was so cute I knew that having a boy wouldn't be so bad :)
No name suggestions, I have a hard enough time picking my own!

I agree with PP! I have a girl only, but I don't see what makes having a girl better than having a boy!

Well, I don't think there is a correct answer to this question. I have two boys and absolutely love raising boys. They are inquisitive, brutally honest, sweet, and just so fascinated by the world. I don't have any to compare it to though because I do not have a daughter. I'm sure people with daughters say the same things about them. Congratulations! You're in for a real treat, boys are fun. :)
