I still can't eat salmon. I'm past my first trimester and was hoping the smell of it wouldnt make me sick anymore, but no. I cooked some up yesterday and couldnt stand the smell of it. Totally bummed. Anybody else had to give up a food or something else you love because you cant stand how it smells or tastes?

Thanks shadow spirit, I'll try that. Its the smell of cooking fish that gets me, I'll still try the milk thing.  I did go ahead and eat some sushi, the day before thanksgiving we took my mom out to sushi and we all stuffed ourselves silly. Turkey is over rated, the sushi was much better.

Giving up hot coffee during pregnancy just about broke my heart. ;) I was SO tired though I still drank small amounts of caffeine but I went with iced coffee; for some reason that didn't make me nauseated like hot coffee did.

Dipping the fish in milk is supposed to get rid of the fishy smell if that's what's bothering you. Just dip it and cook it the way you want it. :)

that's disappointing :( If it makes you feel any better, when I was pregnant with my son, I couldn't eat anything sweet at all, the thought of it made me sick (and I looooove my sweet stuff)... BUT as soon as I had him, I was able to go back to eating normally <3

Yeah, I'm not doing sushi, for the same reason, thats part of the reason I'm bummed. There's no way for me to get any fish in my diet now without saying F the sushi ban seeing that cooked fish is so unappealing to me now.

A Long Island sounds good too...

SUSHI! I love rolls with raw tuna. I've actually sneaked a few pieces, but i'm 35 weeks. The smell never made me sick, i just didn't eat it because they always say no. I wouldn't mind having a long island either ..... ;)
