The Six...
I'm slowly narrowing down my list--I have the nine spots set--but I still have one spot left and I'm trying to decide which FN I like best.

Anneliese -- Very pretty I like. Unique but not different.
Hannah -- Simple but I think Its a little plain.
Eleni -- I don't like it. Probably because of the girl I know named Eleni.
Clara -- Seems a little old ladyish to me personally.
Ivy -- Very Pretty I think its becoming a little too popular right now. Not to mention the woman I know named Ivy is an alcoholic
Genevieve -- gets my vote.
Cora -- I think its so sweet. I like Cora its just not personally my style.
On another note.
Arianne -- All I can think of with any version of Arianne is the Aryan Brotherhood not a good association
Josephine -- I also don't understand how you get Posey from Josephine.
Charlotte -- Not really feeling Lola as a nickname for Charlotte.
Isabelle -- I've always loved but has just gotten too popular imo
Olivia -- I think of Law and Order: SVU or The Cosby Show.
Violet/Daphne -- Love for someone other than me. lol
Rachel -- Seems plain to me
Liliana -- probably the only version other than just Lily I like.
But all your names are pretty. I just can't deal with Arianne.

I can really see Josephine and Hannah as sisters. The other names go well also. I think I was just trying to think of an excuse because I think Eleni is cute! Hannah is never going to be overdone because it's almost as classic as you can get! I love the biblical connection and it is really a beautiful name!
Also, I will never hate on Josephine going to Posey because I like Posy for Penelope Rose (I also like Poppy, but Posy is even cuter!). I see a much more obvious connection in Josephine than I do in Penelope Rose. I think Josie could be a cute nn, so why not Posey?

How does Josephine go to Posey? lol
ha! I'm not sure how Josephine eventually got to Posey... but both it and Poppy are recognized nns for Josephine, so I went with it. I absolutely love Posey but its too nicknamey on its own for me.
I'm pretty sure I'm down to either Eleni Daphne Rue (maybe Eleni Giovanna) or Hannah Ivy _____. Both Eleni and Hannah honor family for me. When I posted on another site, everyone kept telling me Hannah is too common and overdone (which, it is common, but that doesn't phase me at all), which makes me want to keep defending Hannah, especially since I've loved it for years, but I think I'm leaning toward Eleni after all. bahaha. I just love Leni, even though I know it'll never be a popular choice. It's just such a fun name, imo.

Anneliese- I like Annie, but not Anneliese.
Hannah- I love it
Eleni - don't like it or Leni much.
Clara- I like Claire 100 times better.
Ivy- not a fan but I could get used to it.
Genevieve- I don't like it or evie.
Cora- Not my style.
Isabelle (Belle)- Love, my daugther's name and we call her Belle sometimes.
Arianne (Ari)- don't like it
Olivia (Liv)- Love it!
Violet- one of my favorites!!!
Rachel, Daphne, Liliana (Lily), Charlotte (Lola), and Josephine (Posey)- don't like these too much. How does Josephine go to Posey? lol

Out of the narrowed down list (I kept meaning to comment saying Genevieve was my favorite, haha), I like Eleni best. I think Hannah doesn't seem to fit as well with your list, to me. Plus Leni is an adorable nickname! Eleni Ivy ___ could work as well since the i sounds are different in the two names.
Oh, I know, I keep coming to Genevieve and then I keep letting it go. I love the nn Evie, and I would use it for Genevieve, but I don't know, I just keep letting it go. I don't know why! haha.
And Hannah has been a favorite of mine for years, I mean, like probably the last five years I have been in love with it fairly consistently, and it honors my grandma, so I don't know, I can't really see the whole it doesn't suit my style thing, haha. I can definitely see Hannah being a sister to Isabelle, Arianne (okay, maybe not if she was Annie, but if she went by Ari, then yeah, totally), Olivia, Violet, Rachel, Daphne, Josephine/Posey, Liliana, Charlotte, etc. I don't know, I think Hannah goes a lot better than Ivy or Eleni does. But I love that Eleni and Ivy honor my two sisters, so each are still high candidates.
And lol, you don't even want to start suggesting Eleni combos to me. I'm going to shut down every single one, and not even on purpose... I just love Eleni but I can never find a combo that suits me... it's better that I just go in search of one and browse dozens of lists, knowing what I'm looking for, because others aren't going to find it, bahaha. Eleni Daphne Rue was my latest combo and I still quite like it, but I hate the rhyminess of Eleni Daphne. Still, I'm not sure I could ever find something I like more so I'm considering keeping it. I used to love Eleni Giovanna in the past, too, and still really adore it, so I might go back to that and find a second MN for it, like Eleni Giovanna Claire or Eleni Giovanna Kate... idk. I love the very Mediterranean feel of Eleni Giovanna, and I love that Eleni honors my sister and Giovanna honors my dad and brother.

Oh, I definitely like Anneliese and Cora best out of your original list, but seeing as you've already eliminated them, Ivy would be my choice. I also really like your combo of Hannah Ivy, though, or I really love Ivy Anneliese...

Thanks, ladies!
I think it's down to Hannah, Ivy, and Eleni (nn Leni). I'm thinking of maybe even doing Hannah Ivy... I actually really like that. I was thinking Hannah Ivy Claire or Hannah Ivy Juliette or something.
@lilacblooms - Oh, I know, I love Cora, too--its literary presence, and it has family significance to me, but I have met at least 6 Coras since high school (which was only 5 years ago for me!) so that's just too much for comfort. I actually know less Isabellas, Sophias, Avas, Madisons, Olivias, Mias, and Emmas all put together (and those are all on the top 10!) than I know of Coras. Urgh. It's a freaky Pennsylvania thing, lol. Elijah, Autumn, and Cora are everywhere here!
@riverceleste - Oh, I know... sweet Anneliese! But I can't choose them all and I think I prefer Hannah to Anneliese. Both would honor the same grandmother, so it doesn't bother me really. If I go with Ivy, though, maybe I could do Ivy Anneliese. :)

I'm sad to see Cora and Clara go! Those are my favorites. "Downton Abbey" has made Cora a fave of mine!

Liz, haha, oh, I know! I'm on NB so much more, too, but I still post on here sometimes. :) I agree that Arianne and Anneliese are really close but I'm still several years from having kids, so I figure I'll let both slide and see which one sticks over the next couple years. With how Anneliese goes, she usually slips on and off my list as it is, so I'll probably end up with an Arianne and no Annie, but I still really like it. I think I am leaning toward Hannah or Eleni, personally, though--they just feel like me. I love new names but I feel like I've been going in the direction of all the names that everyone loves on Nameberry, and sometimes that's just not my style. Simple and sweet is, and I think Hannah and Eleni are just more me.
Peachy--lol, I hardly ever use the edit function because I hate the whole "edit bump" posts we had to do afterwards... when people's threads kept disappearing, I didn't realize what caused it, but mine weren't disappearing until I edited for the first time in forever, so I guess that's why! lol.
Cora and Clara are out... but I can't seem to nix the others yet!
What does everyone think of Eve or Eve-Claire, nn Evie, as opposed to Genevieve? I like that they seem to be lighter/airier than Genevieve is.

Yeah, the edit button has become my worst enemy for that very reason >.>
Anyway,
Anneliese- Beautiful name and the nn Annie is cute :D
Hannah- Not too bad. The name Hannah has always been one that I've never minded, but I've never actually given much thought into whether I like it or not lol. It's nice though
Eleni- Mehhh it's okay. I'm not crazy about it
Clara- Very nice
Ivy- This feels a little nick namey to me. I don't know what it could be short for though...
Genevieve- I love the nn Evie :D
Cora- Eh, I'm indifferent
Anneliese's my favorite out of the seven. Good luck, I hope that helps :D

Hi Ash, it's so weird replying on here - haven't been on in so long!
This is a tricky one because I think Hannah fits perfectly but I've never liked the name Hannah. In terms of honouring the grandma I do prefer Anneliese but then Anneliese and Arianne are way too close so I wouldn't want both on the list, does that bother you?
Eleni is gorgeous and I love the nickname Leni, it's so quirky.
Ivy feels like one of those names that's going to explode in popularity soon with Beyonce using it, I know only as a middle, but people seem to be really inspired by celebs these days.
Genevieve is pretty perfect with your list too, and while I think Clara is beautiful I don't like it as much with the other names.
To the point of the post I think I'd like to see Hannah, Genevieve or Eleni take the final spot on your 10 - my personal favourite would be Eleni but they all fit really well.

Urgh, I think it edited out everything but the first paragraph.
Anyway, apparently it's 7, not six, haha, but these are the options I'm down to. WDYT of them individually?
Anneliese (nn Annie. Honors my grandma.)
Hannah (honors same grandma)
Eleni (nn Leni. Honors my sister)
Clara (honors my dad and brother)
Ivy
Genevieve (nn Evie)
Cora
The other nine on my top 10 are Isabelle (Belle), Arianne (Ari), Olivia (Liv), Violet, Rachel, Daphne, Liliana (Lily), Charlotte (Lola), and Josephine (Posey). Do any of the seven go better with the top 9?
Thanks!
