WDYT of this sib set?
We are looking at names for a sib set. Do these go together? We are going for a nature-ish theme since me and DH both have nature-ish names. We also have middle names to go with these first names.
Rosalia (girl) - NN Rose, Rosie, Rosa
Rowan (boy) - the Celtic tree of life is the mountain ash, aka the rowan tree; no particular NN yet
Glorianna (girl) - NN Glory, Gloria, Morning Glory
Phoenix (boy) - the mythical fire bird; no particular NN yet
Nickname sugestions for Rowan and Phoenix would also be useful as well. If you want to know middle names, let me know.

Rosalia - I really like a lot of Rose- names, but Rosalia's one I personally avoid. I'm kind of a huge Pokemon nerd, have been since I was a kid, and Roselia (with an e, not an a) is a Pokemon, so.... It's just not something I would use. I don't think a lot of people would think of that connotation, but it would bother me...
Hmm, I was a huge Pokémaniac back in the day also, but I didn't remember Roselia until I looked it up.

Rosalia - Adoraaaabbbleee.
Rowan - I think this is a very cute name. Rory could be a nickname?
Glorianna - This feels very overdone next to your other names. Why not just Gloria?
Phoenix - Very cute, a bit out there... but I like it! Nix could be a cute n/n
Other Ideas:
Ivy, Camilla, Primrose, Zinnea, Saffron, Isla, Skylar, Winter, Aster, Holly, Iris, Juniper, Laurel, Lily, Violet
Asher, Grover, Cole, Skylar, Oliver, Reed/Reid, River, Stone, Forrest, Linden, August
DH doesn't like Gloria and I think Glory is too short for a first name. Glorianna is the only form of Gloria that we both agree on.

LOVE Rosalia, it's a great name and I love Rosie as a nickname. It's elegant, classic, feminine, and unique.
Rowan is cute, not my favorite but I like it. I don't think it needs a nickname. I don't like Row haha.
I don't like the name Glorianna.
Phoenix is unique. Not my style but it could grow on me and I like Nick as a nickname. Some other nns are Nix, Nick, Finn

Rowan - LOVE. I didn't know it was the Celtic tree of life, that's really cool. I don't really think it needs a nickname, it's simple enough as it is.... Row would be an obvious one, maybe as something more casual...
Glorianna - When I was 4 and my mom was pregnant with my sister, I wanted more than anything for my parents to name her Gloria. I have no idea where I'd heard the name, but I loved it. And I was so mad when they named her Haley instead. So, Gloria has a special place in my heart. Glorianna seems too unnecessarily long for my tastes...
Phoenix - While I don't think I'd use it, theres a good handful of people who really like it. I think it sounds really good with the other names, Rowan and Phoenix sound great as brothers!
We are pronouncing Rosalia as Rose-uh-lee-uh. :) I never played Pokemon (though I've heard of it) so I never thought of that. DH says Rosalie (Rose-uh-lee) sounds like it's cut off short, but says the 'uh' completes it. As for the nickname Morning Glory for Glorianna, it would be a family pet name, I wouldn't shout it across a playground or use it in public. I'd probably use Glory/Gloria. Glorianna is a bit long, I agree, but DH hates Gloria and Glory is too short for a full name to me. Glorianna is the only form of Gloria that DH likes (I found 27 forms with various spelling variations).
Would Rory be too much of a stretch for a nickname for Rowan? I like Nix and Phee/Fee/Phoe for nicknames for Phoenix, though I'd probably use Nix. I just would like nickname options and then add to the nickname pool/list as we discover the baby's personality.

I think I like Rosalie (ROH-zuh-lee) better than Rosalia (I'm saying ro-ZALE-ee-uh, not roh-zuh-LEE-uh). Rosie is an adorable nickname.
I love Rowan! It's at the top of my list right now. I am a bit strange so the nicknames I would go for would be Ro/Row (obviously), but I also like Captain (because he's rowin' a boat) and that turns into Walt or Abe (because of the Walt Whitman poem "Oh Captain! My Captain!" which is about Abraham Lincoln). So, I have this way too planned out for someone who won't be having kids for another ten years, haha.
Gloriana and Phoenix aren't really my style!

I love Rowan and Phoenix together, they're gorgeous and would make lovely brothers.
However, I don't like the girls names. Rosalia is fine but I'm not keen on Glorianna, I mean it's OK but nothing I'd use. I guess Glory and Gloria are sweet enough nicknames but I think people might give you funny looks shouting Glorianna across the school playground - I might be wrong though!
Also, please don't inflict the nickname 'Morning Glory' on your daughter, see this link for the reason why (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=morning%20glory). I personally wouldn't want anyone to catch on to this!
Rowan doesn't really need a nickname, and neither does Phoenix but I like the nn Nix.

If you have seen my posts in the Some Names We've Heard Lately board, we have unusual names here too. But that's probably due to a lot of foreign students coming to our college to get degrees. Phoenix seems a bit tame to me, but then again I've seen names that are 10 letters long and that I have no clue how to pronounce.

Yeah, Acorn beats Phoenix in oddness. I guess I'm a name conservative because I was brought up in a preppy white suburb where most people's names are "average." (Elizabeth, Susan, Alexandra, Nicholas, Thomas, Andrew...)

I absolutely adore Rosalia. I see the appeal of Rowan but it's kind of a fad name, getting very popular very fast. I would use Gloriana, not Glorianna, because Gloriana is more accepted as a name (and it's unusual to begin with). Phoenix, like Rowan, is a bit of a fad name, but I find it less "realistic" than Rowan. That is, I don't see it as a name that would really work in the everyday world. Honestly, if I met a guy named Rowan, that would be cool, but I'd think a guy named Phoenix was odd.
It might just be where we live, but we have names that I find to be odder than Phoenix. I went to school (college) with a guy named Acorn and he was not a Native (we live near a reservation).
