Which of these two...
I'm just curious what you lovely ladies over here think. :) I posted this on another site, but I'd like other opinions. I'm trying to decide between two names for the last spot on my boys' list--which do you like more?
Booker or Boone?
I like Booker for Booker T. Washington, and its surnamey vibe, and its association to books, obviously. I'm an aspiring writer, was a writing student in college, and am a total bookworm, so I love those connections to Booker, as well. I've loved Boone a lot longer, but Booker has very quickly snuck up on me. I love Boone for its meaning ("blessing"), its surnamey vibes, and it's association to Daniel Boone (which was arguably my favorite historical figure as a little girl! I think it was because I shared his sense of adventure and striking out and having big, bold dreams).
Boone Isaiah Leo is my Boone combo... I don't have one set for Booker yet. I had liked Booker Caleb, but since Caleb is still my favorite boys' name, it's very likely that that won't happen. Maybe Booker Elliot Samuel or Booker Elliot Zane or something along those lines.
If it matters to you, the other names on my list are Caleb, Everett, Jack, Asher, Grayson, Brody, Spencer, Avery, and Bailey, not necessarily in that order.
Thanks!

Actually, yes, my username is the same! This one is a bit slower, but it's very easy to tell what's going on, if anything.
For the record, I liked the Booker Elliot Samuel combo, Zane felt weird, I guess.

I like Booker a lot as well! Haha, that is very strange how polarized we are. I signed up for Nameberry, but I find this interface (however flawed) to be much easier to use.
I like the Booker combo much more than the Boone one. I think I am on the side of one PP. I really want to like Boone, but I just don't quite like it enough and Booker is really cute!
ha! You joined Nameberry? What's your username? Same as here? It does take a while to get used to... I like it there better because it's so much more alive. Some days PC just seems so dead, but for the longest time I preferred here, too.
I don't really know if Booker Elliot Samuel/Zane is really set--it's just the first thing I thought of that was actually two MNs. I really like Booker Caleb, but I obviously wouldn't do that, since I'm set on using two MNs and Caleb's set as my favorite boys' name.

I actually really like Boone, not so much Booker. I can see Boone being used as a FN because I had a friend who's brother was called Boone it was a NN for daniel but noone ever called him Daniel. I also live in the country though so "hick" doesn't bother me.

This is so funny! haha. Everyone (not even kidding. Every. Single. One!) voted for Boone on the other site. They kept complaining about Booker just being a boring name, or sounding too much like booger (which, the "O"s in booger and Booker sound completely different to me, but I can see the connection). Not one of them complained about the whole hillbilly thing--they all found Boone refreshing! haha. I guess the quest continues!
Amy and Louis - thanks for your opinions, but the last name is going to be either one of these names. They both mean a lot to me personally and in the scheme of things, I don't think Boone or Booker are really that bad... I realize they're not everyone's tastes, but they are mine. Elliot, Samuel, and Zane are definitely not options at this point.

Booker is cool! I sorta want to like Boone, but it just doesn't appeal to me.

Personally I dont fine either usable in the first name slot..if you had to I would tuck them in the mn slots. You have much better choices on your list...Elliot, Samuel and Zane are all better too!

I prefer Booker. I know two little boys with the last name Booker and they are always called "booger" or "booker the hooker" but I still like it. Boone just sounds like a hillbilly to me.
