Double first names... How do you feel about it?
I've been looking around everywhere for name inspiration, and recently I've been seeing a lot of double first names, or hyphenated names.
I was watching an interview with an english actress, and her daughters name is May Rose. I thought that sounded so pretty.
I've always loved Rose as a name, but for some reason by itself it doesn't sound right to me.
What are eveyones feeling on this?
I'd like to hear to hear combos of little girls you've met, or know of!

I think it can work, depending on the names. I think I've only met girls with the standard Mary Ann, Mary Jo, Rosemarie, etc.; nothing interesting comes to mind.
I agree. Ones I have heard and liked are Anna Claire, Mary Kate, Anna Kate, and Harper Kate. Mae Rose sounds kind of like two middle names to me, but it is pretty.

I love them. I have identical twins, one has a double first name (actually we just use her first and middle) and the other does not. Mary Caroline and Evelyn. They are family names, and they work well.... and it does help that we live in the south!

being from the deep south double 1st names seem perfectly normal to me. some people who dont technically have a 2 part 1st name are often called by their 1st and middle name as a matter of routine.
when my daughter was younger we called her Georgia Anne all the time. we still use it often, but not as much as we used to.

My cousin's name is Ava Grace. I think it's beautiful. If you can find two names that go together well, I like it. A personal favorite of mine is Victoria Rose. I would keep it short and sweet using more than one name, though.

I know an Alice Clare, and even though I dont like the name Clare I think this sounds really pretty.

The character I play on my RP website is named Holly-Quinn. She goes by H.Q sometimes but just Holly more often than not.

I'm not usually a fan of double names but there are a few exceptions. May Rose is very pretty. Altho i'd spell it Mae Rose I think. I also like Briar-Rose. I'd say that's my favourite double name.

I like double first names if they sound the right way. My daughter's name is Quinn and at first everybody was saying we should give her a double first name to balance out her unisex first name. My mom used to think Quinn Elise should've been her entire first name instead of divided up. Anywho, some of the names I like/have heard are:
- Anna Sophia
- Julia Rae
- Lina Rose
- Kris-Ann
- Sara Jane
- Kira Noelle
- Hannah Leigh
- Deanna Marie
- Winter-Lynn
- Leah Grace

I didn't used to care for it--it always felt very country-ish to me--but I've grown to see the appeal in certain cases. If done right, it has this chic French vibe to me. My two favorites are Anne-Sophie and Eve-Claire, but I like the idea of Ella Cate/Ella Rue/Ella Roo as a double-barrel nn (for something like Ella Ruby or Ella Catherine), and I used to have Emmeline Ruby, nn Emmy Roo, on my list. I love Emmy Roo, haha.
I'm not sure about others... I know someone who wanted to do Eve-Rose, which I think is almost as pretty as Eve-Claire. :) Eve-Claire and Anne-S0phie are definitely my favorites, though!
