What do you think of this name? What about to go with the name Lyssa? Any other suggestions?

Quoting GreenEyedMonster

I think of an old stuffy butler with an english accent.

Me too!

I'm torn on it.  I sort of like it, because it has this really cool, posh English/British feel to it, but then again, it feels sort of ridiculous thanks to Nigel Thornberry.  :)  Not that kids would think of that these days, but I remember The Wild Thornberrys!  haha.  I only know one Nigel in real life, he was two years behind me in school.  He was a bit of a troublemaker and a rebel, but he mostly had a good heart.  I think he went on to vet school in college.  I think it's a nice name, but I'm not sure it really goes with Lyssa.

Suggestions to go with Lyssa?  Or to go with Nigel?  I'm not sure I can really think of either, atm, sorry, lol.

I have a 13 year old nephew named Nigel. Personally I love it, but I'm biased since I love my nephew. I know some other Nigel's too, but my nephew is the one I see the most. Seems dated to me, maybe because the others I know are all 30s-40s-50s including the one my nephew was named after.

Personally, I don't think it goes to well with Lyssa. If it was Alyssa, I'd probably think differently. As for other suggestions, I'm completely rubbish at them.

I like Nigel. It is cute in a quirky way. I think it fits in well with current naming styles without being trendy. Not sure about it with Lyssa. I knew a couple of lyssas in the 80s. It was very much a cheerleader name. Not sure if the current feel of the name is the same.

It strikes me as an African American name and I imagine a kid with glasses. Neither of those are bad things, just what comes to mind.

I know a woman with a little boy named Nigel and they get a lot of compliments on his name.  I don't think it goes that well with Lyssa though; I'd go with something that's classic but a little offbeat/uncommon (like Nigel).

Sorry, but Nigel strikes me as an "uncool" name.
