How to pronounce Levi ?

I don't live in the US, and here in Germany we don't have the name 'Levi'. At least I haven't heard about it. I pronoune it : Loo - oui (like the french word 'yes').


What's the right pronounciation? (Cause I feel like mine is wrong, although I really like it this way:D)

Yeah, in the german bible Levi is called Leviticus :) But their is no Levi on its own.

We have Leviticus too-Levi is in the Bible as the third son of Jacob after Reuben and Simeon

When I was younger I thought it was Lev-EE (When the Levee Breaks? XD)

But yeah, it's properly pronounced Lee-vie :)

My cousin has a little boy named Leviticus NN Levi, they pronounce it Lee-vie (rhymes with lie or sly)

I live in the UK but I pronounce it lee-vie (vie as in lie/die but with a v)
