Lakely, for a girl?
I know Lakely is listed as a boy name, but it sounds like a girl name to me. Im pregnant and LOVE the name Lakely if its a girl. Do you think its more for a boy or girl?

I would definintely say Lakely for a girl rather than a boy, but honestly I don't like the name at all. It sounds too frilly and made up to me.

I agree with Shannon--all I hear is "lately"! :( Sorry. Blakely seems even more usable to me. I always think of Blake Lively when I hear Blakely--and I always think of this lively, vivacious, wonderful little girl. I like either Blakely or Lake, but not really the middle-ground Lakely, sorry.
I totally agree. And I love the suggestion of the whimsical word name Lark:) What girl wouldn't want to be named after a bird with one of the most beautiful singing voices?

I'm not so fond of Lakely, it sort of sounds like a mispronunciation of the word 'lately'. However, I do think many (if not most) names that end in -ly or -ley sound girl to me (Ainsley anyone?). What do you think of the name Lark?
I have to absolutely say no to Lark, no offense. Lakely is alot better than Lark. If you absolutely love Lakely, who cares what anyone thinks? Its your child. No one likes my girl name, but I really dont care lol

I kind of like it for a girl, but not for a boy. A few sites list it as a boy name. One lists it as a girl name. It is probably rare enough that it could easily be either. It means meadow lake.

No offense taken! I never realized that. Although I seen the name Laken and immediately thought of Lakely so I guess my mind made it up. I still love the name though. I'd rather it sound made up than crazy like some of the names I've heard!
