I would love to keep all of these, but I'm too OCD to have more than 10 favorites at a time, and I already have 9 that aren't budging (Isabelle, Arianne, Olivia, Violet, Rachel, Liliana, Charlotte, Hannah, and Eleni).  I thought I had gotten it down to Catherine nn Kitty/Kit for number 10, but I'm back to having a huge list to choose from.  Right now I'm just curious on perceptions of this list--I'm just trying to figure out how I'm going to pick one from this list and let the others go.

Annora "Annie"

Audrey

Catherine "Kit/Kitty" (probably not everyone's cup of tea here, but I love the Pride and Prejudice connection!)

Emmeline "Emmy"

Eva "Evie"

Josephine "Posy" (again, I know Posy's not going to get a lot of love, but it's a legitimate nn for Josephine and I adore it)

Tess (possibly as a nn for Theresa, but I just can't make myself love Theresa yet)

I love Catherine because it honors my mom, great-grandma, and great-aunt, while also being a huge nod to one of my favorite authors (Jane Austen), but Emmeline got thrown back into the mix and now I'm quite confused.  :/  Emmeline was once my top choice for a girl, and I've been falling for it all over again.

Thanks!

I love how all of your names are classic and pretty!

Audrey might be my favorite on your list, but I seriously love Catherine and Emmeline. Oh wait, I love Eva too! haha.

FWIW, I think Kitty/Kit is a really sweet nn, espcially with a classy, strong base name like Catherine (Lovelovelove this spelling, BTW)

I really like the name Tess, but not so much Theresa. I did know a girl named Tessa, and they called her Tess, and I always thought that was cute.

I love Tess/Tessa but don't really love Theresa or Therese either. I was just trying to offer another option. Really (and I should have said this the first time around), I love the names you picked out overall (very much my taste too), and I think you really can't go wrong with any of them. I was trying to be helpful, but I think I ended up being overly picky. Good luck choosing and best wishes with your coming baby!

lol, that's fine.  I've been around name forums for so many years that I pretty much know what I want because I know names so much.  I mainly ask for opinions because I'm too indecisive as to narrowing them down!  I don't even ask for combo suggestions that much any more, because it's easier for me to just go out and find combos myself, since I know what it is I want.

I've heard other full names with Tess as a nn (like Esther and Elisabeth), but really I just like Tess by itself the best.  Which is weird, because so many of my other favorites are on the longer side with cute nns (like Tess!).

I always welcome opinions and suggestions when I post--I just figured it would be helpful to everyone who was posting that Kitty/Kit isn't really negotiable.  But yes, you were helpful.  It's helpful to just hear what others think and how the names are received by others.

And for what it's worth, I'm not pregnant, haha.  I'm a recent college graduate looking for a job and living with my parents, lol, babies aren't on the agenda for a few years to come.  I do want babies in the future, though, and I do love names, so I keep a running list.  I just don't want it to get out of hand--hence, the narrowing the crushes down.  :)

@embra - I'm not really a fan of Therese, sorry.  I just don't like the pronunciation.  I sort of like the way it looks, but all around I prefer Theresa, which I still can't commit to.  :/  As for Kitty/Kit...  meh.  I know Kitty Bennet isn't the best namesake, but at least she's better than Lydia.  :)  I don't know, I just like the tie to the novel, not the character specifically.  Maybe it's weird that I think like that.  I mean, if my daughter ever wanted to go by Kat or Cate or even Wren, I would be fine with it, I just think Kitty's so spunky and adorable.  Ironically, I hate cats, lol.  I do love Georgiana, but it's Catherine I love, and Catherine I'd add to my list.  Although I'd consider Georgiana as a MN for something else--Tess, maybe, or Annora/Audrey...  If I used Catherine, though, I'm pretty tied to the nns Kitty/Kit or just Cate/Kate.

@raqueleta - I voted on your list.  :)  I don't really vote on anybody's list, I don't really find it helpful to see how others are voting, but hopefully it'll help you.  I really liked Dante, Hector, and Santos from your boys' list, and Eva, Kaia, Zara, Alessandra, and Sofia on your girls' list.  I voted yes to Lucia, too, because I actually really love the name, I just dislike Lucy as a nn.  I think Lucia nn Lulu is adorable, though.  Or even just Lou.

My favourite from your list of undecided names is definetly Tess/Tessa, not keen on the Theresa bit though, just stick with the nn. I adore the nn Evie to, so that'd be my 2nd choice.

Out of your 9 non budgers my personal favourite is Eleni, just because it's different, non-generic, fresh and sounds lovely and cute :)

Hope i helped :)

If you have the time rate my baby list? Really need help narrowing it down

Annora "Annie" - Pretty name, but I would have that song from Betelguise going through my head every time I heard it.

Audrey -Love it

Catherine "Kit/Kitty" (probably not everyone's cup of tea here, but I love the Pride and Prejudice connection!) - Cute, except that Kitty was maybe not the best role model and may be the cause of teasing at school for the kitty-cat angle ;-) Any thoughts on Georgiana (nn Georgie or Gia)? Or if you want to stick with Catherine, maybe for less usual nns Cassie, Cass, Catrice, Catrika, Therin (Ter-rin), Thea (Tay-ah), or Catya? I especially love Thea as a nn.

Emmeline "Emmy" -cute

Eva "Evie" -cute, but very popular now I think

Josephine "Posy" (again, I know Posy's not going to get a lot of love, but it's a legitimate nn for Josephine and I adore it) - I actually really like Posy, and I'm not usually a nn kind of girl.

Tess (possibly as a nn for Theresa, but I just can't make myself love Theresa yet) - I love Tess and Tessa, how about either on its own or as a nn for Therese (Tair-ACE)?

@kd0513 - Emmy Lou is cute!  I have always been hesitant to use the ____ Lou double barrels because it reminds me of Mary Lou, which sounds super dated to me, but Emmy Lou is cute.  The last time I had Emmeline on my list, my combo was Emmeline Ruby, nn Emmy Roo.  :)  I like the idea of something like Emmeline Luna.  I wanted something natural and understated, that wouldn't outshine Emmeline, but I do love the idea of Emmeline Luna!  I had been thinking Emmeline Olive Kate or something earlier.

@HadleyJustin - Kit is just one of those nicknames!  Every time I see someone post about it for a guy I keep thinking, "Oh, but that would be so much cuter for a girl!"  Honestly, I'm one of those who hates unisex names on girls (I share a name with my uncle and there's no way I'm putting a future daughter through that!)--Bailey, Harper, Emerson, Addison, Avery, and Aubrey are huge favorites of mine for boys, for crying out loud!--but Kit has a long history of being a nn for both Christopher and Catherine (something I love--my favorite uncle is a Christopher and my mom's name is a form of Catherine!), so I have no problem using it on a girl.  I appreciate it for a boy, but love it for a girl.  Then again, Eleni nn Leni (prn. Lenny) is also on my list, so maybe I appreciate the occasional feminine name with a more masculine/traditionally masculine nn.  I can appreciate Charlotte nn Charlie, too.

A selfish me cringed when I saw Catherine nn Kit because if these babies in the oven are boys one is definitely going to be Kitt, no doubt about it. I love Annora though I'd probably call her Nora which in itself is a guilty pleasure of mine. I like all the others, but I can't explain how much I love Josephine nn Posy! I really love names popular in Britain right now like Posy, Daisy, Poppy, Gracie, etc. but DH is definitely not feeling it. I've loved Josephine forever, but my hubby hates it... Oh well, I'll keep on him haha.

My favourite from your list is Emmeline. I like the nn Emmy, fun and cute! I'm probably biased to the name as my younger sister is named Emma. My family often call her Emmy, Emmyloo or Em.

Next would be Eva... Then Tess although I don't really like Theresa either.

Jeez, I have the opposite problem with girls' names like no other XD

I think I like Catherine the best from this list. Kit reminds me of the American Girl, but that's okay. Kitty's... meh but I still like Catherine :)

Emmeline's also really nice though... I know this isn't helping you at all but they're both great names!

I like the nn Emmy better than Kit/Kitty as well, if it helps!
