Thoroughly research the popularity of the name you choose. Names that are popular in the U.S. often aren't as common overseas and vice versa. Popularity can also widely vary between areas within the United States. Do your homework as trends can spring up quite quickly. It's fine to pick a popular name but it can be upsetting when that special and unique name that you thought was your baby's alone applies to three other kids in her preschool class.
