A -Ton of a Trend And while the "-aden" trend was huge last year, hip parents-to-be have started a totally new naming trend: names that end in "-ton." New boy's names this year included Maxton, Princeton, Leighton, Layton, Daxton, Paxton, Jaxton, Weston and Easton.

Faraway Places Two uncommon "place" names made it to the top 1000 for the very first time: Malaysia (#971) and Galilea (#997).
Red Hot Nature Names The hippest "green names" of the year according to their upward number jumps" were Juniper, (making its top names debut!), Luna (up 65 spaces), Olive (up 127 spaces), June (up 126 spaces), Pearl (up 146 spaces) and Ember (up a whopping 150 spaces).
