Baby "Practicing" Breathing in the Womb
Submitted by preggoswith4th
I know this may sound weird, but I am being totally truthful about this. I am 33.5 weeks, I have noticed on two sonograms now that I can see my baby practicing breathing movements in the womb. It is a noticeable steady, rhythmic breathing motion when I watch. It is only for a few seconds at a time, and only when he is in certain positions.
Another reason this seems to be what he is doing is that he soon gets hiccups afterwards. I never noticed this with my other children. I cannot feel it, only see it so that is how I differentiated it from his movements/kicks. I read this IS possible as they are practicing this in the womb, readying their lungs for delivery.
Has anyone else ever seen this? It was so moving and awesome to see for us.
